We visited the main beach at Grand Baie and it was packed with locals and tourist.
One of the sand sculptures artist were busy with a huge sand sculpture and I took sone photos there of the crowd on the beach and the sand sculpture but nothing grapped me. I then saw the obvious ebergy between these two youngsters and I decided to make a painting depicting the changing face of Mauritius. Young people who are allowed to choose their own life partners. They each had a phone and was taking selfies in the typical two finger gesture that the Chinese always use when taking photos of themselves. This is so typical because Mauritius has a large Chinese comunity. There is even a China town in Port Louise.
I captured the textures of the skin and the energy between the two young people in liove. This will definitely be regarded as an important work by Gerdus Bronn and will not stay long in any gallery before it gets an owner.
